How to use Fun Cup?
If it's your first time using a menstrual cup, try the FUN CUP when you have a little time to experiment. Find a comfortable position with your legs apart - sit on the toilet or stand with one leg propped up. Fold the cup. Keeping it folded, insert the FUN CUP into your vagina. A little water-based lube can help. Push it in as far as it will go, then let go.
The cup will open, covering your cervix. To create a seal, twist the cup (either holding the sides or the firm silicone tip)while bearing down with your muscles. Make sure the cup is covering your cervix by swirling a finger around the sides. Give it a gentle tug to make sure it's created a seal.If it has, you should be able to feel a little resistance.
How do I clean my cup?
Wash your cup before and after each use with mild soap and hot water. Do not use harsh soaps as they may cause irritation and disrupt the natural pH balance of your intimate area. Rinse thoroughly. For a more thorough cleaning, fully submerge your cup in boiling water for 5 to 8 minutes. Do not boil dry.
How to remove odour on my cup?
Lemon Juice: Use fresh lemon juice to either wipe the inside and outside of your cup, or soak your cup in the juice for around an hour. Once finished, boil your cup for a few minutes in water to ensure all lemon juice residue is removed, before re-using.
White vinegar: Use 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. Submerge and soak your cup for a few hours. If, after washing the cup well, it still smells like vinegar follow up by boiling as above.
Neither of these methods will harm your cup, but you should rinse the cup well before using it again.
How to remove stain on my cup?
It is completely normal for the cups to have stains on it after a few uses due to the menstrual fluid. There is nothing wrong with the cup itself, but if the colour really bothers you then there are a few ways to clean it.
Hydrogen peroxide (1%): Mix 1 part 1% hydrogen peroxide and 1 part water and submerge your cup to let it soak cup for a few hours. Wash well to remove all of the hydrogen peroxide residue before using it or storing it.
Baking soda: Create a paste of baking soda and water, then spread the paste over the cup and let it sit for an hour, then wash well with water.
Neither of these methods will harm your cup, but you should rinse the cup well before using it again.
It can't be safe to leave something in my vagina all day, can it?
Sure can. The FUN CUP is made of medical grade, hypoallergenic silicone, so it's not going to trap harmful bacteria over time or leach any chemicals into your body.Just wash it out at least once every twelve hours, and you'll be fine.
Can I use the bathroom while I'm wearing the fun cup?
For sure! The silicone is soft and flexible enough that it doesn't prevent your body from doing its thing. When it comes to bowel movements, some people find that they can keep the cup in with no issue, and some people end up pushing the cup out partway as they bear down with their muscles. If that happens to you, you can either take it out and put it back in or just push it back into place, bear down, and twist it to create a new seal.
What if it leaks?
There are two times when your cup is likely to leak: when it's left in too long and when you're learning how to use it. Leaking can be combatted by emptying the cup more frequently on heavier days, and it's not a bad idea to pair your FUN CUP with a pad or pantyliner until you're confident.
